mers of America of the Lubbock
District received awards at the
first annual Awards Banquet,
held Friday evening in Crosby-
ton school lunch room.
Neil Hindman. Spur, district
president, served as master of
ceremonies, while other officers
of the district had Important
parts In the affair. These officers
are: Don Bell, Cooper, vice-pres-
ident; Frankie Cossey," Crosby-
ton, secretary; 'Ronald Harrlst,
Frenship, reporter; Carroll Scar-
brough, Lorenro, treasurer; Bob-
by Harris. Ralls, sentinel, and
Bill Gregory, Spur, adviser.

FFA, of Lubbock.
Two young men from Coopef,
A. J. Kitten and Donald Jones,
received the American Farmer
Degree, highest award made by
the FFA organization.
Sixteen young men, including
two from Crosbyton, received
the Lone Star Farmer degree,
highest award made by the
Texas Organization. This list in-
cludes: Glen Moody and Tom-
mye Flennlken. Crosbyton; Don
Bell and Loyd Ha gens, Cooper;
John Taylor, Idalou; Clyde Bra-
zel, Bill Burford, Danny Claborn.
Bennett Davis and Douglas Lind-
say, Lubbock; Eugene Banstory
and Sammie Williams, New

Inter-City Affair
The Crosbyton Lions Club
voted Wednesday to again spon-
sor the annual Crosbyton-Ralls
Sportsmanship Dinner, which Is
held each year just prior to the
annual football classic between
the two towns. This year's ban-
quet will be at Crosbyton, with
members of tht two football
squads, the Ralls Rotary Club
and the Crosbyton Lions Club
as guests.
The Club also agreed to co-
sponsor the safety program INji
ing inaugurated this year at the
school. This will consist in plac-
ing stop signs and painting pe-
destrian walks on the approach-

Wednesday were two young la-
dies, Karen Lodal and Sharon
