Article 4574 of the Revised Civil Statutes is
as follows
COMPENSATION AND IEE .iah aster
of -the board shall receive for his services
ten dollars a day and necessary traveling and
incidental expenses while actually engaged in
the service of the board. The secretary shall
receive his necessary expenses for services
actually performe for the board. All print-
ig, postage and other sont L et expenses,
necessarily incurred in ~a storing this
law shall be paid from the fees received by
the board, and all expenses shall be itead ed,
verified, audited and an aoeeant kept thereof
by the secretary of the board, who shall pay
the same out of said fees which aoru e to it,'

bona fide purpose of attending the Board s meetings. he

from the Board meetings is spent in the services of the

meetings . In this connection the law knows no parts of
da s, and such member is entiled to the full sum of 10.00
for each day on which he has been in the services of te
Board* whether the same be the entir day, a najor fraction
of a day, or a nor fraction of such day.

'*Where a statute fixes an officer's compen-
sation at a certain sum per day, such officer,
peforo g any substantial service on a partiou-
lar day, has a right to receive his per diem com-
pensation for that day, regardless of the length\
