HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS
Christmas Eve Dance & Party
The Southern Chinese Club, a group of young
Chinese professionals in the Clear Lake Area, has
planned a Christmas Eve dance and party. It will
be held on December 24th from 8 pm to midnight at
the Clear Lake Community Recreation Center, 16511
Diana Lane. Dancers will be able to show their
stuff in a dance contest with prizes for the win-
ners, and a choir will be on hand to sing tradi-
tional Christmas carols. Refreshments will be
served during the party and a breakfast will be
served at midnight. Tickets bought before Decem-
ber 15th will be $2.50, and $3-50 at the door.

A 70th Birthday party for MR. EDWARD WOO was
held at Ming Palace Restaurant on Sunday, November
21st. It was given by his children GENE & LINDA
WOO, LINDA & STANLEY NG, WALTER & SHIRLEY WOO (who
came down from Washington, D.C. for the event), and
GENE TOY WOO. Over 150 people enjoyed the 10 course
dinner MR. PHILIP CHEN, owner of Chen Oriental
Co. in Town & Country and on Westheimer, and MISS
EUNICE CHOW, daughter of MRS. DA-CHUAN L. CH0U,
were married on Saturday the 27th of November in
the First Unitarian Church on Fannin The CACA
will hold a Dinner in celebration of its 22nd
Anniversary on Sunday, December 5th at the China
House Restaurant, 12307 Chimney Rock at 6 pm.
Tickets are $7 per person. For more information

Las Vegas Party
The CACA Ladies Auxiliary's Annual Las Vegas Party
will be held on Sunday, December 12th at Albert
Gee's Restaurant, 2929 Buffalo Speedway at West
Alabama, beginning at 3 Pm- Tables will be set up
for card games, Mah Jong, Roulette, dice, and
other games of chance, and refreshments will be
served. Tickets bought in advance are $3 and will
cover admission plus $15,000 in play money.

DAVEY LEE
Mr. and Mrs. HANK LEE announced the engagements
of both their daughter and son on Thanksgiving-
Day. Son LARRY is engaged to Miss Karen Lee
of San Francisco. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs.
Eddie Lee of Oakland. Daughter CYNTHIA, who
was the lovely MISS CHINATOWN HOUSTON 1975,
is engaged to Mr. Davey Lee, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Raymond Lee of San Francisco. The two young
couples met during the Miss Chinatown USA
pageant in San Francisco last February. A double
wedding is planned; the date will be announced
later.
The Houston Chinese Community is saddened by the
loss of one of its well liked and respected
members. MR. BISC0E LUM passed away Wednesday,
November 24th. He was a resident of Houston
for over 30 years.

INGREDIENTS:
3 tab 1espoons oi1
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 3 to 4 lb. fryer, cut
into 2" pieces
3 large white potatoes
peeled and cut into
1 inch cubes
MIX TOGETHER IN A BOWL
THE FOLLOWING:
2 tablespoons red bean curd
(NOM YEE)
1 teaspoon sugar
3 tablespoons soysauce
1/2 teispoon five fragrant
spice (NG LEW FUN)
2 to 2 1/2 cups of water
1/4 teaspoon salt
DIRECTIONS :
Place 3 tablespoons oil in a preheated skillet or wok.
Add the cut up chicken and brown the pieces evenly, but
do not over-cook. Drain off excess oil from the skillet
and add the red bean curd mixture to the chicken. Turn
heat to high until mixture reaches boiling point, stirring
constantly. Now turn heat to medium, add the potatoes and
simmer for approximately 25 minutes or until potatoe.- are
done. Add a little more water if necessary. Serve with
hot steamed rice.
