E. Mission an organ-nation on West
Lemon Ave. Dallas Texas but great-
ly in need of belp I declare that to-
day I see the need of helpful hands
fxtended (o the Mission preacher as
never befure. They are the feeders
to our connection and should be prop-
erly cared for while they are doing
the treat work of expanding and ex-
tending the Church into greater
fields and higher heights for the
moral upWt of all mankind. Junt
think! after laboring all day the
presiding elder recieved $4.83 and
the pastor 75 cents. 0 course the
smallness of the collections were on
account of the inclemency -of the
weather but withal the presiding
elder and pastor must live and the
expenses goes on regardless of the
weather and condlf ana.
It is an alarming fact that we
church people as a whole must pay
more attention to preparation of our
Mission preachers. The spirit o
greed and graft must be eliminated
in the ranks of our min'alry; "dollars
and cents" must give place to soul
saving and the helping of our Mis-
sion preachers. In the near future
we shall publish the address of wel-
come delivered at the Coliseum in
welcoming our Bishops and vteltors
to the A M. E. Bishops' Council.
Dr. and Mrs. C. W. Ablngton with
our noble citizens covered themselves
with glory in this great affair.
Our next place will be at Cowan-
ville or Stop 6 Rev. J. Cprney pastor.
All are invited to attend the Tuar-
terly Conference Saturday evening
and Quarterly meeting Sunday.

high class musical. The best local
talent of the city took part on this
program and each rendition was su-

composed of our leading women
singers and the other the H. T.
Burleigh male chorus under the di-

created a fine impression and we
predict for them a splendid future.
Madam Portia W. Pittman ren-
dered with power and fine execution
the difficult twelfth Rhapsody by
Liszt which number was also used
by the famous pianist Percy Grain-
ger on bis recent Dallas visit.
Miss Nona Vaultz won many
plaudits from her friends by her
brilliant technical work and inter-
pretation of "Rlgeoletto" a para-
phase also by Liszt.
The popular E. Minor Polonaise
pled by Mrs. Sina Ray White
of this city was quite remarkable
and special mention should be made
of her masterly chord and octave
work. It could not have been sur-
passed and Dallas should be proud
of such a pianist as Mrs. White.
It was a treat to listen to the fa-
mous and difficult Thanhauser
Marc as rendered by our leading vio-
linist. Prof. Polk rendered by Mr.
H. Scott's famous St. Paul Choir.
Mrs. Pittman has labored for some
months arranging this- muslcale and
it was quite the sensation of the
