Once each year It becomes my sacred and of-
ficial duty to Issue a Proclamation calling the
members of our Order to assemble themselves In
convenient places of worship to give thanks for the
manifold blessings coming to us during the past
year. Therefore In keeping with my official duty
as well as my own sincere feeling In the matter I
Issue this Proclamation.
When we bow around our several altars on the
second Sunday in May. we shall bow together with
the hundreds of thousands of our kind throughout
the nation and the isles of the sea. We shall bow
as one assembly all governed by the same laws In-
fluenced by the same principles and all giving
thanks at the same moment for our well being.
The Odd Fellows and Ruths of Texas have gen.
eral and special reasons for Thanksgiving. We know
.peace and enjoy the tranquility naturally associ-
ated with Friendship Love and Truth; Peace Hap-
piness and Prosperity. In the cabinet of the Or-
der there Is harmony and coordination ot effort
thereby assuring the Order the highest degree of
efficiency from those chosen to serve. In the
ranks there is also peace and mutual confidence in
the ultimata triumph of all the principles under
which we operate.
Together with peace we have prosperity. We
have the notoriety of having a reserve fund equal
to that of the biggest and best organisations ot our
kind in America. Our every pledge Is securely
protected and we religiously carry them out. Our
business method of operations In keeping with
sound business policy eliminating every defect de
signed to -lessen confidence. We take great pride
in our mammoth 'reserve only because It supplies
the means whereby our pledge to policy-holders is
redeemed and the principles of the Order effective-
ly carried out. In this light it is worthy motive
of Thanksgiving. --
The project of building a headquarters build-
ing; has advanced to such a stage as to furnish am.
pie cause for Thanksgwlng. Our forces for hand-
ling this gigantic task have been well and effec-
tively organized. The lots have been bought and
paid for so that now they are the property of the
Order. Let us give thanks for our success to this
point and Hnd to the cause our continued prayers
and efforts until the task Is complete.
In thl3 preliminary to the Thanksgiving Pro-
clamation I beg to call the attention of the juris-
diction to the fact that at the last Grand Lodge a
resolution was passed providing for the Dickson
Orphan Home to have the net proceeds of this oc-
casion. Therefore when all the legitimate expense
of the Thanksgiving occasion has been met send
the remainder to Jas. T. Ewing Box 610 Austin
Texas. He will make a record of all each local
body sends and forward same to the Dickson Or-
phanage. I want to urge hearty support to this
feature of the program. We are committed to
the policy of caring for the orphan and there Is
no more effective way of carrying out the prin-
ciples of Odd Fellowship than rendering this ser.
vice. This move should be supported wholeheart-
edly. The Grand Master feels caned upon to render
thanks for bis personal well being and call. upon
the entire Jurisdiction to Join us in Imploring God
to continue His wonderful blessings to us la or-
der that we may continue to serve His people.
In the death of Bro. J. P. Starks we have lost
a Btalwart support and we are much the poorer by
his departure; still with the meekness and stead-
fastness of Job let us say "The Lord glveth and
the Lord taketh away blessed be the name of the
Lord."
For all the good that has attended our way
personally and as an Order; for our present pros-
perous condition for the brightness of the future
let us give thanks.
On the day assigned let us assemble ourselves
In devout religious mien and render a regular re-
ligious service of Thanksgiving. The principal
feature of the program should be a gospel sermon.
J want to urge that each minister called upon to
do service for the Order on that day will give a
sermon not designed to extol altogether the virtues
of the Order. ' but those of the lowly Naserene.
There will be other persons on the program who
will take care of the Order's Interest. Let the min-
ister deliver a gospel message.

Dr. E. M. Davis a prominent Den-

ing elimination of the blood streak-
d sputum renewed vigor and stam-
ina restored appetite a ruddy com-
plexion warm hand and feet clear
eyes and a general robustness of
constitution which surprised moat of
all the patients themselves."
Similar reports from tubercular
patients thruout America have con-
vinced us that pulmonary tubercu
