rested a negro charged with seduction.

The city yesterday filed suits against
thirty-six delinquent taxpayers.
TRAXSFER OF NOTES.
Mr. Fred Petmecky yesterday filed in
the county clerk's ollice a transfer con-
veying to the Simmons Hardware com
pany certain notes nnd nccouiits to se-
cure the payment of $729.13 due said
company. '1 he notes and accounts aggre-
gate about $955.
GOT HIS MAN.
J. S. Coop sheriff from Kentucky ob
tained requisition papers yesterday from
Governor Culberson for one Branard
Cockerill wanted in Kentucky for assault
to murder. He was arrested in Corvell
county nnd Sheriff Coop left with him
yesterday on the noon train.
BOLD. BAD BURGLARS.
Burglars forced an entrance into Mr.
George Brush's big store some time Sun-
day night and they succeeded in getting
away with a lot of fine cutlery nnd other
articles.
Just how much Mr. Brush lost will
probably never be known. The folice are
working on the case.
TOOK HIM IN.
A colored man named Ambrose Ander-
son was arrested yesterday by Officer
Gibson and confined in the city police sta-
tion. Anderson is not exnetly nt himself
nnd yesterday with a knife was threat-
ening to do mischief. He lives on Red
River street nnd nn effort will bo made
today to have him sent to the poor farm.

proval of application No. 28 of the Tex-
as Midland Railroad authority is. here-
by granted for the adoption of the follow-
ing arrangement of rates for the trans-
portation of the articles named below be-
tween all points on the Texas Midland
Railroad:
First The rates on dressed beef in
straight carloads minimum weight. '20.-
000 pounds per car shall be 10 per cent

in commodity tariff Xo. 13 issued June
S and effective June 29. 1895 for the
transportation of cured hog meats lard
and lard compounds in carloads.
Second On mixed carload shipments
minimum weight.- 24.000 pounds per car.

in commodity tariff Xo. 13 as "packing
house products." the charges shall bo
computed by employing the actual weight
of each portion of such shipments in con-
nection with the carload rate applicable
respectively. In case the total actual
weight of sueli mixed shipment falls
short of the minimum of 24000 pounds
then the deficiency in weight shall be
mnde up ns of packing house products.
