Tlie police force yesterday we
the observed of all observers as they
paraded the principal streets of the
city in their new uniforms. Unlike
our cotempoiary we think the new
uniform (to use an expression of the
fair sex) purtectly lovoly and think it
one of the neatest we ever suw but
perhaps we muy be prejudiced ou ac
count of old memories produced by the
color. The uniforming of the police
has been a question that has sadly
puzzled the City Council until the mat
ter was finally settled by the energy of
Captain June Peak who made sutisfuc
