A shower fell in the Lake
Sweetwater community last
Tuesday. It was ushered in by
heavy wind and lots of sand. Be-
fore the week was over, however,
all signs of the showers had van-
ished.

business visitors at the W. L.
Turner home the first of the
week. Guests in the Marvin Chit-
wood home at Shep recently

Walter Hale of Abilene visited
in the home of her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Earl Scott during the
first part of the week. She also
visited in the home of her grand-
mother, Mrs. R. L. McReynolds
before returning to Abilene.
Mr. and Mrs. Alton Smith and
son ui Sweetwater were guests
in the Vivian Boyd home re-
cently. Mrs. Doc Scott and Sun-
ny visited Mr. and Mrs. Vivian
Boyd Thursday. Mrs. S. A. Drig-
gers and Sherman, Jr., from
near Trent were luncheon guests
In the home of Mrs. Driggers
mother, Mrs. J. W. Lynch Tues-
day. The group shopped in
Sweetwater and visited with
Miss Clara Bennett. Mrs. R. L.
McReynolds has been confined
to her home most of the past
few weeks due to illness.

Shirley June Boyd celebrated
her fifth birthday Saturday with
a party in the afternoon at the
home of her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Vivian Boyd of
Lake Sweetwater, Mr. and
Mrs. Sherman Driggers and sons,
Sherman, Jr. and Marcus Loyd
were at the home of Mrs. J. W.
Lynch Saturday enroute to
Sweetwater. Mrs. Lynch accom-
panied them before leaving for a
visit in East and South Texas.

Fell Ouf Window
FORT WORTH (UP) — A
Fort Worth infant who fell out
of a two-story window, as did his
mother when she sought to res-
cue him, was released from a
hospital here.
Six-month-old Johnnie Dean
Garrett received a head injury
when he rolled off a bed through
an unlatched screen. His mother,
Mrs. J. P. Garrett, was slightly
injured when she fell through
the window "in reaching to grab
her child.

OAKLAND. Calif., Aug. 2,—
(UP)—George Moran, fi" who
won fame during the 1920's as
a member of the comedy leam 01
"Moran and Mack," the original
two black crows, died here Mon-
day in a charity ward of High-
land Hospital.
Death was caused by a combi-
nation of diabetes and a stroke.
