Mc-Ginney-Cox Wedding.
The following account of the
wedding of Mr. J. Henry Cox,
son of Mrs J. H. Cox
of this city and Miss The-ma
| McGinney of Tyler is taken
from the Tyler Courier-Times:
''A pretty wedding ii which
! centered the interest of many
! friends, was that of Miss Thel-
' ma McGinney and Mr. J. H.
j Cox, which was solemnized at
11:30 o'clock, Thursday after-
noon at the home of the bride's
! Ginney, the beautiful ring cer-
emony being performed by Rev.
parents, Mr. and'Mrs. J. M. Mc-
i W. F. Bryan, pastor of the Mar-
| vin Methodist Church.
'' Only the immediate relatives
and intimate friends of the bride
; and bride-groom were present.
"The floral adornment of the
home was marked with charm-
ing simplicity, a bridal motif
of pink and white being artisti-
cally carried out.
"The vows were made be-
neath a bower of foliage, with
clusters of daisies and South-
ern smilax in relief. Hanging
gracefully at either side of the
sacred altar were tiny baskets
filled with daisies.
''Mrs. Roy J. Potter, sister of
the bride, gave the wedding mu-
sic, playing Lohengrin's march
as the bride] party entered.
"Attendants in the wedding
were: Miss Mourine Ford
bridesmaid, who was lovely in
an orchard chiffon frock with
a summery white hat and cor-
sage boquet of lavender sweet
p'ms; Little Miss Marjorie
Wyatt, of Beaumont, the bride's
cousin as flower girl, wore a
pink dress of crepe de chine and
scattered rose petals from a
daintily decorated basket, in the
path of the bride who entered
with the groom. Mr. Maurice
Cox of Mineola, the groom's
brother, was best man.
The bride was a picture of
girlish grace in a midnight blue
piquette traveling suit, with
modish hat and accessories to
match. Her corsage boquet was
of white, sweet peas and bride's"
roses.
"After the wedding a recep
tion was given, during which,
delicious refreshments of pink
ice cream and angel food cake
were served. The table in the
dining-room was centered with
a bride's cake, surrounded by a
profusion of daisies. The table
was further adorned with pink
maline streamers, which reached
from the four corners and termi-
nated in graceful festoons of
the chandalier.
"Mrs. Leonard Wyatt and lit-
tle daughter. Marjorie Wyatt,
of Beaumont and Mr. Maurice
Cox of Mineola, were those at-
tending the wedding from out
of town.
The bride is one of Tyler's ac-
complished and talented young
women, having graduated from
Tyler High School with the
class of 1917. She was born
and reared here and has a host
of well-wishers who predict for
them a happy future.
"The bridegroom is a man of
those admirable attributes and
high standing, and possesses
traits of character that are es-
sentials in the life of the manly
man. He came to Tyler from
Mineola several months ago to
continue his career as a news-
paper man, and at present is an
esteemed employee of the Cour-
ier-Times, very capably filling
his position as linotype operator.
"Mr. and Mrs. Cox left im-
mediately following the wed-
ding for a brief honeymoon trip,
after which they will be at
home to their friends at 1125
South Augusta avenue.
