and a very lengthy discussion followed as
to whether or not editors who wero nut
also proprietors be admitted to member-
Blip. The objection as held by a largo por-
tion of those pronont was that professional
editors under the employ of proprietors
should tint be allowed an equal voice with
their employers in the regulation of pro-
prietory management.
After a disagreement on this subject car-
ried almost to an extent Droving fatal to an
organization in its incipieury the matter
wa finally settled by a compromise includ-
ing "editors" in thepreamble and making
a clauso in the con itltution nulhlying their
vote on questions embracing any expendi-
ture imposed by the association upon pro-
puiHoin oi papers consequent upon lliull
position as such.

to suppose that the people of the cotton
belt are very much like the folks of other

are as acutely alive to their own interests
as others and being on the ground they
are the best judges as to their own wants
