COLLEGE FRIENDSHIPS
To a man or woman who expects
to llvf In Texas there Is a great gain
In being educated In Texas. It gives
a knowledge of the State's history of
the Character of its people of the
condition of Its. life that are neces-
sary to success in Texas. It gives
further a wide acquaintance with the
best class of people from all over
the State that throughout life is an
unfailing source of pleasure and
help. Since Its foundation In 1883 a-
bout twelve thousand students have
attended the University of Texas of
whom over thirty three hundrod have
taken degrees. Today enrolled In Its
various departments are over 2000
students.
In summing up the assets of his
years In the University oT Texas one
of Its alumni says:
"The Inst but really the greatest
good derived from the University
course comes to the graduates all
through tho remainder of their lives.
Every student has made many and
highly congenial friends during those
four years and all through life they
are met with again. The old friends
are a constant pleasure aud new ac-
quaintances are easily formed thru
the magic bonds that draw all alum-
ni and tx-students of tho dear Al-
ma Mater together thus no matter
what part of the State one goes to
there Is always to be found some old
'Varsity students and a common In
terest draws pooplo together."
And In a similar vein a man now
prominent In the State's educational
work writes:
"I think my greatest single pleas
ure secured through University at
tendance Is the thought that in every
town of any size In this State Is some
congenial spirit whose Ideas are
akin to my own ami that we develop
ed these Ideals together as students

Scurry County Water
A Scurry county man recently In
writing back to ltls people la Cen-
tral Texas estimated that Snyder has
more than five hundred wind mllla
and he slated that with all thin
draught upon the water fountains
the supply dmlsn't seem to be dimin-
ished. There is n point In that to show
t lint the Snyder country la especially
blessed on thut line. Nobody seems
to ever think that the Scurry
county wells will go dry.
Windmills may run all day week
In and week out and still (he wat-
er keeps gushing out pure clenrf
and sparkling.
It Is so all over the county. Ono
gentleman catni hero from hla old
Klato home. Ilo said he dreaded
to lose the society of the good wells
and Bprlngg back there but after
staying here awhile ho got over that
feeling and frankly admitted that
the water here Is Just as cold as
palateable and as wholesome as any
he has ever used.
A Scurvy county man just a few
days ago said bo had been travelling
recently In a neighboring County and
the gyp water of that section almost
laid him out. Over there the people
have to go to the expense of build
ing ciaterns here they do not. We
very seldom hear of a person suffer
ing any Inconvenience from using the
well water in Scurry county.
Summer colds are bard to get rid
of. and freciueiitly lead to asthma.
bronchitis and hay fever.. Do not let
your cold get a hold on you but use
Foley's Money and Tar Compound
for quick relief. W. II. Allen Chel-
sea Wis. says: "Wo prefer Foley's
Honey and Tar Coin pound to other
("ought medicines because it quickly
cures coughs and colds. It will ward
otf a cold If taken in time. Contains
no opiates. Snyder Drug Co.
Political campaigners are apt to
cause some body to say some hard
things which may wound (lie feelings
of erstwhile good friends. Men
ought to be careful about what they
say. The candidacy of men and the
lining up of voters doesn't call for
bllter words among neighbors. Keep
cool.
