/) _ (F IT were possible to icguUte the
weather to suit our own notions,
howlmany of us could agree as to
what it should be? The likes and
dislikes of human beings vary al-
most as widely as the range of
actual weather conditions. Yet
from the standpoint of health arid
v ' well being, temperatures requir-
\ ing 3 moderate amount of heat
"ea'ch month throughout the year
would be ideal. It would give us
th^t exhilarating feeling that
comes from wearing warm cloth-
ing. and entering a heated room
from the outside cold air.
It is safe to arssume that few of us
>vould order the sudden or pro-
■ longed extremes of hoc and cold
weather which nature sometimes
provides. If there were no un-
usually cold - ,1'v'r, such as has
already been experienced this
winter, your gas bill for December
would not be so much ^higher than
it was in July. • •, \
Fairly u n i f o r m temperatures
throughout ihe year woufd mean
that your ga:. bills would'be about
the same, month by^rtionth. Also
it would me.m^tnat 'your Gas
Company coujd provide facilities
adequate to^rvc a rather constant
deman(T7tfi r c t^gho u t the yeir,
tyithojit 'jeiitg called upon to
maintain much greater facilities
in order to take care of the "peak
demands" on the coldest days of
the winter.
But, everything considered, it
would be hard to improve on na-
ture's plan of controlling the
weather—even extremes in tem-
perature* conform to natural
laws. However, .modern house-
hold appliances make it possible
for you to enjoy comfort and con-
venience inside the home, in spite
of unfavorable weather conditions
outside. And you® Gis Company
is prepared and $ad to serve you
during periods of extreme cold
weather as well as when your re-
quirements are much less. fplf
