SHANGHAI, Feb. St. (AP)—
Eighty-one persons were killed, J 30
were injured and ten .were missing
todnj* after an explosion la two gaso-
line vulcanlxers in a CJilnese rub-
ber factory in eaat Shanghai.
Of the 120 injured fifty were taken
to lioNpitals while the remainder es-
caped with only slight injuries,

and two men.
The bodies of the victims were
placed In n vacant lot near iho fac-
tory while relatives sought to iden-
tify them. Virtually all the bodies
ware hndly burned.
A number of the ihjured taken to
hospitals were reported graycly burn-
ed and .It was 'feared some of them
the bodies ot tea missing persons

Police atated tfiey had not. been
able to determine the oause of the
i blast. The owner of the factory dis-
appeared, apparently fearing, the po-
