Rev Wheeler Is a zealous worker
In Hie Master's vineyard and has ac-
complished much, as indicated a-
bove. for the Baptists of Collin
county. While his salary as County
Missionary has steadily Increased,
we understand that it came to him
entirely unsolicited and as a tes-ti-
tnonial of h,is brethren in apprecia-
tion of his consecrated and effective
labors aniony us. Bro, Wheeler en-
joys mi extensive acquaintance
throughout the county and his mark-
ed success in the missionary field
has been taken conl'/.ance of by oth-
er counties, but he feels like bis duty
lies in Collin county and has uni-
formly declined these calls as they
have come to him.

Chicago during the recent commence-
ment week. Mrs. Palmer was the
first dean of women for that univer-
sity.

the man whose wife and children
were murdered a< Edna, Texas, two
or three years ago, and for which
crime two negroes, Felix Powell and
Monk Gibson, were hanged. Mr.
Condi I lias been a resident of this
county for the most part of two
years. The bride is a daughter of
Mr and Mrs. M II. King of Wood-
bury and is well known at thnt
place. The couple h ft immediately
over the Katy to visit relatives In
South Texas, after which they will
make their home at Covington, this
county.
After granting women the parlia-
mentary suffrage Norway lias gone a
ytep further and voted to give all
women employed in the postal ser-
vice the same pay as the men. Nor-
wegian women have struggled for
this point for several years.
