The ladles of the Baptist church
gave an oyster supper, also served
ice crcam and coke last Friday
evening at tiie store building on the
south side of the street. Quite a nice
supper was served and a nice sum

Rev. Mock I'ooke from the Fort
Worth Seminary preached at tho
Baptist church here Sunday morning
and evening. He was the former
pastor here and was liked by every
one for his pure Christian life and
character and his many friends were
triad to have him back once more
with them.

On lust Friday evening a nice
programme was rendered in the au-
ditorium of tlie school building. The
main feature being a decision 1" -

orical contest in MeKlnney. Judges
were Rev. Jennings. Messrs. Sue d
and Foster, all of MeKlnney. Piano

testants gave their readings. First.

Next. Miss Willie Swindle nave "The
Prisoner's Plea." Miss Willie, too. is
quite an artist in expression and in

another telegram today (Monday)
