PETER SINGLED OUT
ANGEl OF GOD AT TOMB WANTED NEWS TOLD
TO DISCIPLES AND PETER; FIRST APOSTLE
TO SEE RISEN CHRIST ALONE WAS PETER
Almighty God wanted the. news
of the Resurrection of His Div-
ne Son communicated to all of
-lis disciples and especially St.
eter. This significant fact is
contained in the account given
i>y the Holy Bible of the events
of the first Easter Sunday. The
ingel of God, the gospels tell
us, on that first Easter morn—
:n words coined by God Himself
concluding his address.
Ending the half hour ceremon-
ies, Father O'Rourke then led
the assembly in the Lotd't*
Prayer lor the successful com-
pletion of the chapel. All the
rites took place at the spot
where the aitar will be In the
chapel and with the beautiful
statue of Oui- Lady of Fatima,
whch was obtained in Dublin,
Ireland, mounted on a pedestal
in the background. All during
the day rain threatened but Our
Lady and St. Patrick kept it off
until an hour after the ceremony.1
The groundbreaking was the
second such ceremony, for Our
Lady of Fatima Chapel. The
first groundbreaking was held
Tuly 2, 1950, feast of the Visita-
tion of the BVM to her cousin
Elisabeth. The ceremony took
place on the mission's 3 1/2 acre
tract of land In Hughes Springs.
At the time it was intended to
build the .chapel there. But late*
diocesan authorities decided that
the chapel should be plated In
Daingerfield.
Rumors that the Catholic
Church will sell its Hughes
Springs property are without
foundation. Tho 3 1/2 acres wit)
be kept there with the hope
that in the future the growth of
Cathollsism in the area will
bring about a cbapel for Hughes
Springs also.

out this fact. The text of thle
gospel, which is read Easter
Sunday at every Catholic church
on 6 continents, follows:
8T. MARK'S GOSPEL
"Continuation of, the holy Gos-
pel according to" St Mark. At
that time,, Mary Magdalen, and
Mary the toother of James, and
Salome brought swee t spices
that coming they might anoint
Jesus. And very early in the
morning, the first day of the
week, they came to the sepul-
chre, the sun being now risen.
And they said to one another;
Who shall roll us back the stone
from the door of the sepulchre?
And looking, they saw the stone
rolled hack. For It was very
great. And entering Into the
sepulchre, they saw; a* young ma*

were astonished. Who salth to

they laid Him. But go, tell Ills

goeth before you Into Gallllee:
there you shall see Him, as He
told you."
