country vote will overwhelm that of
this city In November and establish
prohibition. It is claimed that It will

interests as tho city has forty saloons
and $250000 iuvostod in breweries and
the wholosalo trade which will mainly
bo driven across tho narrow lied
river into Minnesota. Tho Argus
which has seemed inclined to prohibi-
tion nud tho editor of which is
mayor comes out strongly on the side
of high liconso suggests $1000 and
insists thnt prohibition would bo
ruinous to tho business interests. The
campaign is becoming hot tnd bitter
aud tho chances are in favor of anti-license.
