Mi Mi-ins Tuns.' A.ig. 0. The July
cotton report for the Memphis district
embracing AVcst Tenncsseo North Mis-
sissippi North Arkansas and North
Alabama to bo issued to-morrow by
Hill Fontiiino A Co. will say:
Taking this district ns a whole there is
improvement to oo noteu m tno grow
ing cotton crop. This ix particularly
uoiioenoio in ArKansas anu Tennessee.
In theso two istates the 'weather has
been most seasonable and the plant
although somewh-it smaller and later
than usual is healthy uud growing rap-
idly. In Alabama and Mississippi too much
wot weather has prevailed and iho crop
in those flections is still from two to four
weeks lato.
Disastrous rains are reported from
never! 1 counties in Northern and Kant-
orn Mississippi which is overflowed as
to tho cotton lands cnusing
sorious uamago to notn cotton finu corn.
It also caused the abandonment of some
lands in both of those States which ow
ing to eonlinueu wet weather was im
possible to cultivate. '
Tho criticid period has now Ticon
reached and it ix safe to predict that
with a favorable seuson lrom
mw on tho yiold of cotton
in this district will exceed that of last
year.' An early frost would however
curtail tne yu l.i iiiaicriuuy.
