Cheaper Steel.
There has been shown at Mobile
during the past few days a block of
steel made there from red hematite
ore from the Birmingham district of
Alabama. Theste-1 has teen made at

The Mobile steel is the first run tiiat

Cuban magnetic ores or the use of ex

that it is tine grade steel.

Sunday Closing:-
That Sun5ay closing is gaining ground
in Texas is instanc .'d by the fllowing
card which the Hon -ton barbers have
just inserted in the Post: In answer
to a statement! which appeared in The
Post Tuesday Julv 0 in which was
s'ated that the barb rs of Houston were
getting tired of k-eping their shops
closed on Sund.iy is altogether wrong
as we the undersigned barbe-s ara
strongly in favor of keeping our shops
c osed on Sundays as we think that
we are entitled to have the Sabbath
day for -rest. Although our work is
not. hard we have very long hours: and
f-ei e is no barber in the city who fdels
ie working from 7 a. m. until 12 mid-

been authorized t nate to ihe contra-.

what pleases taxpayers is the fact that

Nerves just as surely come from the use of
Hood's Sarsaparilln as does the cure of
scrofula salt rheum or other so-called
blood diseases. This is simply because
the blood affects the condition of all the
bones muscles and tissues. If it is Im-
pure it cannot properly sustain these
parts. If made pure rich red and vital-
ized by Hood's Hnrsnpnripa it curries
health instead of disease and repairs the
worn nervous system as nothing else emi
do. Thus nervous prostration hysteria
neuralgia heart palpitation are cured by

The Milk in the Coeoanut.
In the territory of Arizona there has
been a fight over the governorship that
has been carried on for four years
over every succeeding governor and
is a disgrace to the territory. Ever
since the capital was movd from Pres-
cott to Phoenix this light has been
keut up and in all that time no gov
ernor has served a full term. Peop'e
outside of the territary ha e wondered
why it was that there was so much and
such bitter fighting over this office.
Tte fight made against the conlirma-
t'on of the appoir.tment of Col. Mc-
Cord has been bitter and long drawn
out and during its continuance the
secret of ail the trouble has come out.
It seems the governor appoints the ter-
ritorial treasurer the treasurer keeps
the territorial funds in a bank. There
are two bunks in Phoenix. Eeh
bink wants thesj funds. The
bank that has the funds is al-
ways fighting against a change in
ihi governorship and consequently a
change in the treasurership. The bank
that has not got the funds is always
fighting for a change. Tha. fight on
McCord is a bank fight. It would be a
good thing for the territory if the new
governor would appoint a life convict
in the Yuma peniten'iary as treasurer
and have him keep the territory's roli
in one of the underground cells. There
is no suciT trouble id New Mexico.
Here any bank in good standing can
make a bond to the territory and upon
its approval a portion of the territorial
funds will be dcposi'ed in the bank.
A pointer for the next Arizona legis-
lature: It is icpor;ed that it cost
eight thousand dollars to get this law
through the INew Mexico legislature.
A pointer for Arizona banks: The
New Mexico bank that had the cred't
of putting up this eight thousand went
busted before it got rich off the ter-
riti rial funds and its president is now
in the pen. Liberal.
Healthy Happy Uabies
are generally the offspriug of bealthy
nappy motners. It would nardly be
natural if it were otherwise. The
baby's health and happiness depend on
the mothers. The mother's condition
during gestation particularly exerts
an itillueuee on the whole life of the
child. If a woman is not careful at
any other time she cer ainly should be
uiu ing the period preliminary to par-
turition. It is a tiiii- when greatest
care is necessary aud nature will be
better lor a littie help. li.veu strong

tonic for the whole system and at any
time will promote the proper and re-
