Ben Ell Shanblum son of Mr. and
Mrs. L. F. Shanblum has been elect-
ed president of the Senior High School
Senate. This is a much coveted honor.
Selma Brin daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. I. Brin has been appointed as-
sistant editor of the Junior High
School paper.
Sol Brachman tendered a farewell
dinner to Morris Tennenbaum who
left for Little Rock Wednesday.
Among those present were Sol and
Abe Brachman Morris Tenenbaum
Jack Katz Mr. Herman Lederman
and Dr. Fox.
Mrs. Joe Goldgraber returned
from the summer's stay in New York.
With her coming back activities of
the Council of Jewish Women will be
revived.
The many friends of Mr. L. F.
Shanblum will be glad to hear that he
is now up and about.
Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Friend arrived
home Tuesday from a several months'
visit with relatives in New York and
Pennsylvania.
Dr. E. Toomim has moved into his
new and spacious offices on the fourth
floor of the Texas State Bank Build-
ing. The Sisterhood of Temple Bcth-
El met in regular business session last
Thursday at 3 o'clock in Beth-El Cen-
tre. Mrs. Dan Brown first vice presi-
dent presiding. Much business was
disposed of. A year book was decided
upon and a Thanksgiving entertain-
ment. The membership is to be divided
into circles each circle to be respon-
sible for one affair for the Temple
Fund. The meeting was preceded by
a meeting of the executive board.
Miss Rose Ritchey has returned
home after a peasant visit with her
relatives in St. Louis Mo.
Miss Marie Joseph popular daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Joseph has
gone to Houston to visit the Fox
family and to be bridesmaid at the
Fox-Illfeld wedding which will take
place in that city.
The bride-to-be Miss Fox is well
known and highly esteemed in this
community having visited. Mr. and
Mrs. II. C. Pincus for some months.
Mr. Illfeld is also one of the prom-
inent young men of his community.
Mr. Milton Cahn who has been for
several weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Sam
Levy has returned to bii horn In St
Louis.
Mr. U. M. Cerf manager of the cir-
culation department of the Monitor
is in Oklahoma in the interests of the
paper.
Mrs. Will Nathan is visiting Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Bronstein.
Miss Sara Carb is visiting in San
Antonio.
Henry Mack who is attending the
State University spent the week-end
with Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Mack.
Dan Brown is home from a short
business trip.
Dan Levy was in Wichita Falls dur.
ing the week.
Herman Marx has returned from
a trip to West Texas.
Naming as their honor guests the
new members of the congregation the
Sisterhood of Temple Beth-El enter-
tained with a program and informal
reception last Sunday night in Both-
En Center. The following program
was rendered.

Vocal solo Mrs. Dan Brown; ac-

Punch and cake were served to over
a hundred guests .
The initial meeting of the Parents'
and Teachers' Association of Beth-El
Sisterhood was held MoniU after-
noon. Mrs. Louis Block chairman of
this branch of the Sisterhood w.irk
presided and read a very well pre-
pared paper. Miss Ida Brown prin-
cipal of the Sabbath School delivered
an inspiring talk. Rabbi George Fcx.
spoke along the lins of religious
school training. Theae meetings are
to be monthly and it is hoped that
all mothers whose children are en-
rolled in Beth-El Sabbath School will
avail themselves of the opportunity
of co-operating with the teaching
staff of the school thu this associa-
tion affords them.
Mrs. A. E. Marks and Miss Louise
Marks of Sherman have returned
home after visiting Mrs. S. Neumeyer
of Broadway.
Master Louis N. Lehman is attend-
ing school at Peacock Military Col-
lege San Antonio.
There will be a meeting of the Mi-
riam Club at the home of Mrs. Lou's
Morris 1115 South Henderson. Sun-
day Oct. 17 at 3 o'clock. Executive
meeting at 2:30.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bochstein en-
tertained with a box party at the
Majestic theater Tuesday right 0'
12 the occasion being their fifta an-
niversary. The guests were: Mr.

Taboritz the host and hostess.

The engagement of Miss Belle Co-
hen and Mr. Harry Lavine was an-
nounced at a party given Sunday
evening October 10th at the home of
Mr. Cohen 1623 West 10th street.
Many friends were present and danc-
ing was the chief diversion of the
evening. Musical numbers were ren-
dered by Theodore Rosenthal violin-
ist Morris Kutchin flutist while Mr.
Dvorkin and Mr. Shlochman sang a
number of Jewish songs. A most en-
joyable time was had by everyone
present
The Ladies of the Hebrew Relief
Society will hold their opening meet-
ing on Tuesday October 19th 1920
at 3 p. m. sharp at the Hebrew In-
stitute. This year's work will be re-
ported. Election of officers will take
place. Every member should be pres-
ent Plense try to come.
Refreshments will be served. Mrs.

Dr. Goldberg of Wichita Falls was
in Ardmore Sunday to conduct ser-
vices at the Temple Emeth.
Mrs. A. Moses Mrs. Metzler and
daughter Dorothy of Dallas and Dr.
Jacoby of New Orleans La. are the
guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Wald-
stein. Mrs. Leon Kahn and Mrs. Joseph
Wcise have gone to Houston Texas
to attend the wedding of their niece
Miss Bern ice Fox.
Mrs. J. M. Miller has returned from
Dallas Texas. While there she at-
tended the State Fair.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kuehn and Mr.
Dan Zacharias of Gainesville Texas
spent Friday in Ardmore.
The Ladies Aid Society met Tues-
day at the Temple Emeth.
The following officers were elected

mark Secretary and Mrs. C Nivochs
Treasurer. The ladies outlined their
work lor the coming year. After the
business session delicious refresh-
ments were served.
