Almonds should be bleached
before using. Pour boiling wat-
er over nuts and let stand un-
til skins loosen. Drain and slip
skins off with fingers. Chop
or slice them while soft, then
place in shallow pan in slow
oven to dry.
SHIFT YOUR PACK AND JOG
ALONG
When you're jogging down the
road
Sunk beneath a heavy load,
Lift your eyes above the mire;
Catch the morning's opal fire.
See on rough and splintered
rails
Misty gleam of cobweb veils,
Watch the colored things on
wing;
Jog along and hear them sing.
Nesting bird and laden bee,
Learn their working melody;
Get the rhythm, join the song;
Shift your pack and jog along.
Jog along and you will find
Many heartaches left behind;
Burdens weighing down the
pack
Cease to chafe your weary
back. *,
