The Mineola Fire Department
had answered twelve alarms
for the month of December up
to Thursday, seriously threat-
ening the record high of six-
teen for a single month. Fire
Chief Wesley Lott stated today. ■ ^
With the month not half ^
gone only five more alarms are ; ^
needed to establish a new rec-
ord. The Chief further ad-
vises that 1940 has been a busy j ^
year with the department al-

times. The average number of j ^
calls per year has previously \ ^
been about sixty, and one year
the number dropped to forty- I
nine. B
Losses thus far this year are ^
slightly in excess of $6,000, and ^
Chief Lott pointed out that if
losses do not exceed $8,900 for "*v
the year fire insurance policy-

an extra five per cent reduc- i ^
tion on premiums next year.
Policyholders now have the |
benefit of a twenty per cent BRAZIL NUTS .lb 15c
