poisons, is absolutely harmless and is the simple remedy of
nature. It carries off all poison in the system and leaves no

IN TIME OF PEACE.
In the first months of the Russia-
Japan war we had a striking example
of the necessity for preparation and
the early advantage of those who, so
to speak, "have shingled their roofs in
dry weather.'' The virtue of prepara-
tion has made history and given to us
our greatest men. The individual as
well as the nation should be prepared
for ,.;iy emergency. Are you prepared
t i successfully combat the first cold
you take? A cold can be cured much
more quickly when treated as soon as
it has been contracted and before it
has boconte settled in the system.
Chamberlain's Cough Remedy is fa-
mous for its cures of colds and it
should be kept at hand ready for in-
stant u.'.e. For sale by MexiaDrug Co.

TllERE IS NO REASON
Why your baby should be thin, and
r.ctful during the night. Worms are
the cause of thin, sickly babies. It is
natural that a healthy baby should be
fat and sleep well. If your baby does
not retain its food, don't experiment
with colic cures and other medicine,
but try a bottle of White's Cream
Vermifuge, and you will soon see your
baby have color and laugh as it should.

ALWAYS WAS SICK.
When a man says he always was sick
—troubled with a cough that lasted all
winter—what would you think if he
should say—he never was sick since
using Ballard's Horehound Syrup.
Such a man exists.
Mr. J C. Clark, Denver, Colorado,
writes: "For years I was troubled
with a severe cough that would last all
winter. This cough left me in a miser-
able condition. I tried Ballard's Hore-
hound Syrup and have not had a sick
day since. That's what it did forme."

The managing editor spent Sun-
day in San Antonio seeing the big
international fair. The fair this
year is much larger than before
and the people seem to appreci-
ate it by criving it a good patron-
age. It is worth your while to
go down for a day oi* two
The San Antonio Fair.
It is fitting, that at San An-
tonio; the great center of the
live-stock breeding and matur-
ing ground of Texas, should be
held the greatest live-stock show
in the Lone Star State or the
south.
The greater portion of all that
vast extent of territory south
and west <^f San Antonio for
hundreds of miles, will for years
to come be utilized for large pas-
tures or stock-farming, and other
tens of thousands of acres in
that same section and to the
north and east of San Antonio,
will be utilized by farmers most
of whom will raise on the farm,
improved live-stock of one class
j or another.
( Realizing the vast and ever-
growing livestock industry of
this section and all Texas, the
management of the San Antonio
International Fair, this year, as
well as every other vear since its
organization, has done every-
thing possible to promote and
encourage the livestock industry.
This exposition has offered to
live-stock breeders each year,
more money to be competed for
than any Fair every held in the
south, while every accommoda-
tion in the way of stables and
pens have been given exhibitors
in this department. It is this
recognition of the paramount in-
dustry in the state that has,
each year, brought exhibitors of
all classes of livestock and pros-
pective buyers together by the
thousands. This year the live
stock feature of this Fair will be
bigger and better than ever.
The Association, this year,
has been compelled to build
more pen and stall room for ex-
hibitors of horses, cattle, swine,
sheep and goats. Already thous-
ands of dollars have been ex-
pended for new buildings this
year in the livestock department.
We have not the space in this
article to give the names of ex-
hibitors and what they will show
at this year's Fair, but it is suf-
ficient to say that this year's
exhibit will aggregate fully
twenty-five per cent more ani-
mals in all classes than in any
other year in the history of the
Association. This crowning
feature of the San Antonio Fair
this year should be sufficient in
itself to bring to the Alamo City,
thousands of visitors. This
year's livestock show will not
only be the largest ever .held in
the state in the number of ani-
mals shown but the quality will
be there as well.
