Philosophy Club Slates
Foreign Movie Tonight
A free movie, "The Bicycle
Thief," will be shown at 7:110 to-
night by the Philosophy Club in
the Business Administration Lec-
ture Hall.
All students are invited to at-
tend, but club members will be
seated in a reserved section.
Directed by Vittorio de Sica,
the film was shown in Italy,
France, and Kngland under the
title "Bicycle Thieves."
"The Bicycle Thief" relates the
story of a thief who steals a boy's
bicycle. The theme of the story
suggests the broader implication
that, given sufficient socio-econ-
omic stress, all persons are poten-
tially "bicycle thieves."
The film was not well received
in ila... -t gained practically u-
nanimous acclaim from critics in
France, Kngland, and the United
States. It played continuously for
six months in London.
The riders meet each Thursday
evening. Often they play riding
games, have races or various con-
| tests. This year they hope to
challenge the Denton Sheriffs
Posse or the Denton Roundup Club
| to some riding contests.
In addition to regular meetings,
Los Caballeros hold wiener roasts
and riding parties. Kach member
■ is assigned to one horse.
It is his responsibility to keep
this horse in shape to ride. Often
they get together for a grooming
| party, when all wash and brush
! their horses, or a saddlesoaping
party, when members clean the
equipment they use.
The riding club is more than 15
years old. During that time it has
had members from all over Texas
and from several other states
