a. Regan.Senate Resolution No. 29.
Senator Sanderford sent up the
following resolution:
Whereas, It has always been the
custom and practice for each Leg-
islature to provide for a portrait of
the Governor of Texas; and
Whereas, It is fitting and proper
that this Forty-third Legislature
should provide for the customary
portrait;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,
That the President of the Senate ap-
point a committee of three to secure
a suitable portrait of Governor
Miriam A. Ferguson and have same
properly displayed in the capitol;
and
Be it further Resolved, That a
sum of five hundred dollars, or as
much thereof as may be necessary,
is hereby appropriated from the con-
tingent expense fund of the Forty-
third Legislature.

The resolution was adopted.
Executive Session.
At 2:15 o'clock p. m., the Chair
announced that the hour for the ex-
ecutive session had arrived. The
chamber was cleared and the doors
were locked.
After Executive Session.
At the conclusion of the executive
session at 2:30 o'clock p. m., the Sec-
retary of the Senate informed the
Journal clerk that the following ac-
tion had been taken:
The appointment of Hon. John W.
Young of San Angelo, Texas, and
Hon. George B. Warren of Rio
Hondo, Texas, as members of the
Pink Bollworm Commission.Louis Weiner of San Francisco,
Calif., as Commissioner of Deeds for
the State of Texas in California.
Senate Resolution No. 30.
Senator Parr sent up the following
resolution:
Be it Resolved, by the Senate,
That the offices and committee
rooms of the Senate be and the same
are hereby reserved for the use of the
Senate and that none of said offices
and rooms be set aside for any other
purpose unless authorized by a ma-
jority vote of the Senate;
Be it further Resolved, That the
Secretary of the Senate so advise the
Board of Control of this action.PARR,

Senate, at 6:22 o'clock p. m., re-
cessed until 8:30 o'clock p. m. to-
night.
After Recess.
The Senate was called to order,
pursuant to recess, at S:30 o'clock
p. m., by Lieutenant Governor Edgar
E. Witt.
Address.
The Chair recognized Senator
Parr, who stated that former Gov-
ernor Dan Moody was within the
Bar of the Senate and moved that
he be granted the privileges of the
floor.
The motion was adopted by unan-
imous consent.
The Chair appointed Senators Parr
and Woodul to escort the visitor to
the platform.
