Majors Pull Ahead
In Big State Race
Br- The Associated Press
The Greenville Majors won't be
caught in the Big State league
race at the pace they're how trav-
eling.
Last night they made it seven
straight as they licked last-place
Austin 7-2, thus retaining their
one and one-half game lead over
Texarkana's Bears who also won
to draw five and one-half games
ahead of idle Wichita Falls.
Texarkana beat (jainesville 9-
3 as Wallie Eaves won his eigh-
teenth pitching victory of the sea-
son against one loss. Eaves not
only scattered il hits effectively
but hit two home runs—a pretty
good night for pitcher or any
player for that matter.''
Marlin Fox -did <« six-hit job

Waco 13-1.
Wichita Falls at Paris was post-
poned because of wet grounds.
