“The post competition was
rough and it was very difficult
to le th th re
nominees” Zarnik said.
“ALL OF THE soldiers who
appeared before the board were
sharp and did an outstanding
job. We wish we could have
sent all 9 of them (retention
NCOs) to the FORSCOM-level
competition that will be held
this year in Dallas” he added.
Loyd a three-year contender
for the FORSCOM title said the
post board was more reenlist-
ent oriented than the pre-
vious retention NCO of the year
boards.
“To prepare myself for this
board I had to change my
study habits and brush up on
ilita ry is to ry rr
events basic soldiering as well
as retention policies” he said.
“My in-depth studying paid
off because the board judged us
on all the aspects of being a pro-

soldiering civilian and military
education and retention man-
