Control Office has begun archery qualifications for the fall
hunt at Fort Hood through Dec. 15. Qualification is required
to bow hunt on the Fort Hood reservation. The 30-day archery
season for deer and turkey will begin Oct. 5 and end Nov. 3.
Hunters can qualify at the Hunt Control Office bldg. 1938. For
information call Mr. Burrows at 287-5841.

schedule: On weekdays the pool is open for unit training 6-7

weekends and holidays the pool will be open for open swim-

motorcycle enthusiasts interested in touring the state of
Texas. Motorcycle touring on scenic routes or traveling to one
of the 100 events held in Texas each month is the purpose of
this new activity. A meeting to introduce this program will be
held Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. at Fiddlers’ Green Recreation Center

Dirt Riders:
Wrestling team Tryouts for the Fort
Hood wrestling team are open to all active-duty soldiers. Try-
outs and wrestling practice for the team are held Monday-
Friday at Abrams Physical Fitness Center from 5:30-8 p.m.
The team is also looking for an assistant coach with know-
ledge of freestyle and Greco-Roman styles of Olympic wrest-

Fort Hood Lacrosse team’s first game scheduled for Oct. 20 at
San Antonio. Team practice is scheduled at 6 p.m. every Tues-
day and Thursday and 11 a.m. on Sundays at Hood Stadium

in volksmarches all around Texas and sponsors its own three
times a year. There is no entry fee and transportation is pro-
vided to the different events. The club meets the first Tuesday

Aerobics will be held Monday-Friday
at Abrams Physical Fitness Center three times a day at 8:45
a.m. 11:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. For information call 287-3884.
Starker Physical Fitness Center offers aerobic classes Mon-
days through Thursdays at 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The classes
are free and open to both males and females and also to

Drag racers.
Drag racing has been cancelled
until Oct. 6. The Killeen and Fort Hood All-Pro Drag Racers
meet at the 439 Auto Clinic every Wednesday at 7 p.m. You

The Fort Hood Dirt Rider’s Club
meets every Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in bldg. 9000 and has trail
rides every Sunday at 9 a.m. The trail rides are open to all

A trail of dust from approxi-
mately 100 runners kicked off
the four-day festivities of the
seventh annual Knights of Col-
umbus Oktoberfest in Copper-
as Cove Sept. 26.

who clocked in at 16:25. The
fastest time for the females in
this event went to Cheryl Oliver
with a 22:49 run.
The 10K best time for male
runners went to Joe M: Molloy

finishing in at 32:48. The fastest
female runner for the 10K went
to Cindy A. Bruton a Centel
employee clocking in at 40:28.
