On Oct. 13 40 Fort Hood sol-
diers departed Fort Hood to
join hundreds of other soldiers
at the annual National Associa-
tion of the United States Army
convention held in Washing-
ton D.C. Oct 14-16.
THE CONVENTION is held
each year to allow chapter rep-
resentatives the opportunity to
get together and discuss how
their chapters are doing with
membership drives and to have
the opportunity to view present
and future technological adv-
ances.
The 40 soldiers from Fort
Hood who attended the con-
vention had the opportunity to
get a firsthand view of equip-
ment they will be working with
in the future if they stay in the
Army.
Attendance at official func-
tions was an important part of
the convention for the attend-
ing soldiers as it allowed them
a once-in-a-lifetime opportun-
ity to meet and be greeted by
people such as the Secretary of
the Army the Army Chief of
S taff and the retiring Joint
Chief of Staff as well as to view
weapons systems of the future.
