Q: My baby was born at Dar-
nall. I can’t get my baby enrol-
led in DEERS without a birth
certificate. Why can’t I get a
birth certificate from the folks
in Patient Administration?
A We cannot provide a birth
certificate that is done by the
ureau of Vital Statistics. A
certificate of live birth is given
by Darnall Army Community
Hospital to parents of newborn
babies. To obtain a birth certifi-
cate you ust send a request to

Speech?
A: Darnall Army Community
Hospital has only one audiolog-
ist and one speech pathologist.
Consequently there is a delay
in obtaining routine appoint-
ments. As of April 1 all speech
pathology appointments will
be scheduled through the Pa-
tie A in tm S stem
(PAS). Parents of children with
possible speech problems who
have a referral from Pediatrics

should call PAS on monday
morning for an appointment
that week. When all appoint-
ent times are filled they will
be asked to call the next week.
For audiology purposes chil-
dren are divided into three cate-
rie 1) a rs an
under—these consultation will
be screened by the audiologist.
Parents are requested to bring
the consult to the clinic. 2) Five
to 13 years old with referrals
from Pediatrics or Occupation-
al erap —p aren ts should
call PAS on a Monday morning
for an appointment that week.
