To the^ soldier^ of Phantom
Corps I extend to each of you
and your family a happy
Thanksgiving. This year as was
celebrated 371 years ago our
families and friends reflect on
the peace and blessings we enjoy
as a nation. From its bittersweet
beginning in 1621 we as a na-
tion continue to be driven by***
faith in our land in which free-
dom justice and order are the
inherent rights of men and
women all made in the image of
God. This pilgrim’s dream this
hope have made the sacrifices
and hardships we in the Armed
Forces have endured worth
while..........

Over the past two centuries'
we can see how Americans from Valley Forge to
the Persian Gulf have given life to this dream.
Our Army continues to give life to this dream with
the same courage dedication perseverance and
sacrifices as those at Valley Forge.

Food service
surcharges
By Marilyn hipps
III Corps Public Affairs
If you don’t have a meal card and want to
eat a great meal come to a Fort Hood
dining facility and bring a little cash.
THE DEPARTMENT of the Army estab-
lished surcharges that are often misunder-
stood. Confusion on what the surcharges are
and who they apply to can be explained
easily.
DA established the dining facility sur-
charges for each fiscal year according to Sgt.
Maj. Clifford Harper.
“DA sends out a message establishing the
meal rates and surcharges for the year.
They apply to all military dining facilities”
he said. * “t_
Harper explained the dining facility meals
are exempt from surcharges three days each
year for active-duty military and dependent
family members. Gv. ’T
