at governor Campbell in replying to
the Bryan Eagle which paper has ask-
ed for hia views on appropriations for
agrlculturo and for tho Agricultural &
Mechanical college.
Colquitt in his reply declared that
if the next governor emulates the ex-
ample set by the present executive and
vetoes all appropriations for build-
ings and improvements at the A. & M.
College at Bryan upon tho constitu-
tional grounds that the college wllPbe
compelled to suffer for a long time.
Colquitt says that tho five provlous
governors of tho state have construed
this constitution differently than Camp-
bell and approved of the appropria-
tions. The railroad commissioner ad-
ded that all the state educational lnBtl-
ttiions should be placed on a solid
footing and politics omitted in their
consideration.
The commissioner gave quite a leng-
thy reply to the questions asked by the
TV-Van Eagle detailing hiB .views on

Special to tho Reportor:
WASHINGTON Jan.. 15. Hon.
Champ Clark of Missouri has return-
ed to tho city after a speech making
tour lasting ten days and predicts a
sweeping Democratic victory this fall
With tho Democrats controlling both
the Senate and House.
In many respects darks' speech
making tpur has been memorable. Ho
addressed large crowds on about
twenty vdlfforont occasions tp whom
ho expounded tho virtues of tho Dem-
ocratic platform and fallacies of tho
Republican.
In IiIb Dayton Ohio address on the
night of "Thursday January 13 Mr.
Clark is said to have dollvered the bit-
terest criticism of his careqr of speech
making! Ho told a large audience that
the tide was rising against Cannonlsm
scored 'Senator Hale for printing a
sipeech of tho Speaker of tho House at
thq publlo expense declared the G. O.
'P. afflicted diagnosed tho case de-
tailed symptoms such as tho Plnchot
case and woundup by spying tho
whole 'shooting match was hopeless.
His blttorest sentencowas his con-
'cluslon in which Mr. Claris! delivered
this ultimatum:
"Certainly the Republicans cannot
bo' described as a happy family. The
Parsons-Cannon row the Balllnger-
Pinohot row the .Crane-Knox row tho
insurgent stand-pat row tho Constant-
ly increasing talk of 'the rqturn from
Elba" the central "bank: row all these
are merely symptoms but most sug-
gestive symtoms of the disease now
afflicting the G. O. P. So while Dem-
ocrats everywhere celebrate the glad

assault all along the line upon the
common enemy Republicans present
