had the effect of cooling off the atmo-
sphere. The threshers aro busy In and
nround Tuscola and present a scene
of activity.
Tho wheat and oat crop while not
as great tn yield as should be expect'
ed Is of a fine quality. In the rail-
road yards here at Tuscola cars aro
either loaded or loading with wheat
to ho shipped to various destination
points. The cotton plant is holding
UP pretty well under drouth-like con-
ditions It is hoped a fairly gcod crop
will be made thl year although tho
weevil Is giving trouble In this torn
munlty.
Tuscola Is a prosperous little city
with a progressive citizenship who be-
lieve n doing things. In order that
the Interests of Hie city are well taken
care of the Tuscola Commercial Club
iiipcH from time to time.
The construction of several nice
residences have been planned nnd
lumber Is on the ground for the con-
struction of one nice residence here.
At the municipal tabernacle Thurs-
day evening a great Ice cream supper
was given by tho Methodist Sunday
school. It was well attended and all
present had a great time.

gan here under favorable conditions
