reached Abilene Thursday morning to
the effect that a large Texas oil com-
pany had deposited in a Dalian
bank the sum of 20000 as a guaran-
tee for the drilling of a deop test oil
well on the Conrad ranch Shackelforl
county where 11.000 acres have newt
leased. The exact location it is said
is on Block 1 Section 4 in Shackelford
county midway between tho Phantom
Hill deep teat ami the Texas-Cushlng
No. 1 project.

tractto spud the well In not later
than April 1

geological reports indicate that the
location Is one of the best in Shackel-
