Mrs Lorene Nichols or 331 Mul-
berry and Mrs. W. O. Frazior or Baird
returned Sunday evening from a trip
to Mineral Wells made in Mrs Nichols'
motor car. They went to Mineral
Wells by way of Ranger but returned
through Breokenrldge and Albauv le-
porting the roait by the luttr route
much better as they are being im-
proved. The Sears well baa reached a devel-
opment stage and is now setting fc-
Ineh casing according to a report from
Merkel Monday morning. This well Is
now a little beyond the 200o feet depth
and is one of the deepest wells m the
county It bas a rise gas pressure
which has beea forcing out salt water
and is regarded as a splendid prospect
for a good oil well which may be
brought In any day This well u seven
miles northwest of Merkel
