THE METAL SAFETY RAILWAY TIE
Necessity is the Mother of Invention
American industry is founded on the product cf her inventors. The automobile electric
light telephone telegraph steam engine and a multitude of other devices all have grown from
small beginnings and have earned handsome sums for those that were their early backers. So
once more the inventor steps to the fore and by the invention of the Metal Safety Railway Tie
gives birth to a new American industry that of the manufacture of Steel Railway Ties which
shall supplant the wooden ties that have heretofore grown in American forests.
That the wooden tie must be replaced by some substitute in the not distant future is evident
from the increased ccst and scarcity of same there being only seventeen per cent of the tim-
ber in our fast disappearing forests that there was one hundred years ago.
The following are examples of the many letters we have from practical railway men which
are splendid testimonials as to the practicability of our device and of the desirability of an in-
vestment in our capital stock.

l)ear Sir:
After carefully examining the model of your 1nct.1l
.safety railway tie I am pleased to inform you that I was
most agreeably surprised to find a superior track ap-
pliance.
As far as I know your anti-Creeping and safety fea-
tures are new and exclusive and I believe they are vitajjjy
iniNirtant and together with the pinched center leinii-
nating possibility f side thrust and center binding I
believe the tic is Wind lo succeed.
'I he present timber shortage makes it extremely dif-
ficult to properly maintain track and I am sure track
departments will welcome the advent of your device.
I wish you the unbounded success your great inven-
tion merits. Sincerelv vours
