last meeting were read and approv

progress in obtaining subscriptions
for the Free Haptist College. He
thought that by the time his com
mittee had lini-hed canvaeing that
sullicient funds would be avaible.

Upon motion the chairman was
requested to apioint a standing
committee on railroads. The com-
mittee will be announced later.
The committee on membership
wa urged to take uj an active can-
vass in inducing especially our
young men to bvome members of
the League.
Complaint was entered before the!
League that the ordinance in re-
ference to switching of trains and
the running of trains at an exces-
sive rate of speed in the city limits
The matter whs
work was progres-ing satisfactorily
with the county hands and that as
a whol the roads and bridges are
in good shaM. Several bad places
in the county were culled to chair-
man Johnston's attention and he
will see that tiiey are looked after.
(Jen. II. B. Stoddard called at-
tention of the L?ague to the ap
proaching rn-union of Hood's Brig
ade in this city. The time of this
meeting is June L'Tth and they
come to Bryan upon the joint invi-
tation of the Mayor and Business
League. The chair apjniinted L.
L. Mclnnis (. M. Brandon and
Ed Hall a committee to take entire
charge of the matter with power to
appoint necessary subcommittees.
