The obsequies of Col. William
A. Banks were held yesterday af
ternoon nt 3 o'clock. Keligious
services were conducted by Ilev.
J. D. West pastor of the Presby-
terian church. The interment was
with Masonic honors. The A. and
M. College Allen Academy Aca-
demic and Collegiate Institute and
Ihe Bryan public school suspended
the exercises of the afternoon and
the business houses of the city
were closed during the funeral
hour as a mark of respect to his
