tornado visited this city Wednesday.
During the blow which last about
three minutes one man wan killed and
at least half a dosen Injured. One
nouse was blown down more titan a
score of buildings were unroofed and
bavoc was done to trees fences signs
and awnings. Half a dosen men were
at work packing up a house. When
the tornado struck this building It
collapsed. Joa. Yandan wag burled
under th wreckage ami Instantly
killed hour other men were caught
but were dug out olive though uncon

convention of the Henevolent and
Protective Order of Klka came to an
end Wednesday night aa far as the
formal meetings of the grand lodge are
concerned though three days more
will be devoted by the visiting Klks to
fraternal feasting and general enjoy
nient. Arter short sessions of the
grand lodge Wednesday evening that
body adjourned to meet next year In
Cincinnati.
Wednesday night the streets In the
central part of Itultimore were given
up to a confetti battle. The streets
Were packed with good natured people
who constantly moved from corner to
rorner. every pedestrian Industriously
inrowing confetti on pilsners by and
receiving the compliment In return

streets in carriages while many men
and boys provided with tin horns

to the general merriment.
