itentiary waa made by four convict ut
8:15 o'clock Friday afternoon result-
ing In a terrinc battle' with weapon
and nltro glycerin at the prison gate
a running fljht through the streets
of Jefferaon City and the final rapture
of the four convicts two of whom were
ahot and wounded. Two prison officer
were shot dead and a third aerlously
wounded. The dead:
John Clay gatekeeper and R. Alli-
son of the commlsaary department.
The wounded: Deputy Warden R. K
