April also brought us a most de-
lightful outing and picnic. The skies
were clear the weather was balmy
and ail nature seemed to smile upon
us from the roadside brook field hill
and dale as we journeyed on. The
fragrant aroma from Sweet William
mountain daisy buttercup and blue
bonnet was wafted to us from every
side and the beauty from a thousand
landscapes delighted our eyes. Then
as we approached the falls on the
Praos our destination broad acres
of corn and cotton met our gaze at
every turn. Arriving at the Brazos we
viewed the "falls" so matchless in
their majestic grandeur made kodaks
fried fish and there 'neath the silent
stately trees feasted on viands fit for
the gods. Those present were Mr. and
Mrs. R. E. Dunlap Mr. and Mrs. Roger

MINTER SPRINGS.
Farmers are rushing the plow and
with tood reason. The lapse of two
weeks without rain is- making the
ground so hard that unless it rains
soon they will all have to go fishing.
A large ac-eage of corn has been re-
planted; some escaped damage from
the cold and was not Injured and
cood stands are generally reported.
Vast possibilities lie' in the long
freshly plowed furrows. The hope and
well being of nillions center around
the result of the great campaign by
the soldiers of the plow. The roar of
traffic from the Atlantic to the Pacific
seaboard to the great ships awaiting

HARVEY HAPPENINGS.
Things are moving along nicely in
Harvey.
Sunday we had preaching at Bright
Light by Rev. Stalker of Ilinois. It i
was a fine sermon indeed and every-
one considered it a treat to hear this
powerful man. All who can do so in-
tend to hear him at the revival in
Bryan this week.
BRACZYK-KOSH.
Oon Monday night at 10 o'clock at
St. Joseph's Catholic Church in this
city Mr. Frank Rraczyk and Miss
Veronika Kosh were united in mar-
riage Father Litwora performing the
marriage rites. Immediately following
the ceremony the bride and groom
and wedding 'guests repaired to the
home of t!ie bride's parents Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Kosh near College where
an elegant wedding supper and recep-
tion were tendered.
Both bride and groom are well
known young people have a large cir-
cle of friends with whom they are
very popular and both belong to good
families. They have the best wishes
of all for a long and happy life.
The groom is in the employ of Mr.
Charles Vesmirovsky nnd they will
reside in this city going to house-
keeping at once in a neat cottage
which the groom had purchased and
furnished in advance for his bride.
The Harvey boys went to the Rock Brooks

Prairie school picnic Saturday and
during the afternoon played the Well-
born boys another game of baseball
and were victorious by a score of 18
to 10.
The Harvey school was closed
Wednesday so that the teachers could
visit the A. and M. College. The holi-
day was greatly enjoyed by the chil-
dren. The young folks enjoyed another en-
tertainment Saturday night at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred CargilT.
Mrs. Fred Perkins of Austin visited
Mrs. W. D. Jones the past week.
Mrs. John McCorquodale of Houston
spent Monday with her brother M. G.
Buchanan and family.
Miss Bertha Turner returned home
