TUESDAY APRIL 14 1914.
THE BRYAN DAILY EAGLE
The old idea of mechandising was to
separat'customer .from dollar; no
thpugln of giving only of getting.
But this Live Store has introduced
a new idea an idea that will sound
rather startling to those who cling to the old
haggle-and-barter method9 of doing business.
We feel here that if we succeed in taking care
of your profits well enough our own will auto-
maticallytake care of themselves.
And it is in line with this policy of seeing how
much we can give rather how much we can get
that we call your attention to -our new Spring

THE CITY SCHOOLS.
Mr. A. M. Waldrop of the board of
trustees was at school recently look-
ing after the Installation of sanitary
drinking fountains. The trustees are
anxious to do the best possible for
the good of th. schools.
Many progressive cities have medi-
cal examination of teachers before the
annual election and thus guard
against troubles from that source.
An average of 99 on each of the
two examinations this year Is the rec-
ord made by Lucy Harrison of the
tenth grade. This Is all the more re
markable when we consider the fact
that examinations In the Bryan schools
do not consist of mere memory tests.
Mr. V. T. James secretary of the
bourd of trustees was visiting at the
schools a few days ago. Condition!;
in the rooms had his attention.
There are six boys In the graduating
