Issued a statement epresslng grati-
fication over what he termed a
change In the tone of the American
press regarding the note to Germany
saying': "Jingo editors speculating
on the note predicted the matter
would be dealt with with great firm-
ness that Germany would be told
there most be no more delay in ac-
cepting the I'nlted States' demand.
Now I'm glad to aee the papers are
emphasising the friendly tone of the
note.
