One of the moat attractive exhibits
'In the domestic science department ot
Bryan'a poultry show this week was
sent by Miss Ima Cook daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. I. M. Cook of Steep Hoi-
low. Miss Cook is a member of the Brax-
o County Girls' Canning Club and has
made an enviable record In the domes-
tic science art. Her exhibit took first
prize on the Girls' Canning Club ex-
hibit at the Dallas State Fair last Oc-
tober and she also won first prizes
on grape Juice and Jelly; one Jar of
pickles was selected from her exhibit
there a the best In the state and Is
kept In the permanent state exhibits.
At the Cotton Palace In Waco last
fall Mis Cook' exhibit won first prize
on variety. Thjs splendid collection
was sent to the Bryait show not to
enter for a prize but as an exhibit In
behalf of the Brazoa County Girls'
Canning Club.
A note from Miss Cook to Mrs. Al-
bert Buchanan vsald In part: "I pre-
sent you. the president of the Bryan
Woman' Club with the bottle of
grape Juice because of the Interest
you and your club have shown for us
the country girls and women."
The club presented Miss Cook with
a seclal prize an elegant rake plate
tor her loyalty to the Girls' Canning
Clubs and for progresslveness and
public splrltedness.
