quilted for the hostess. Scriptures
were read followed by prayer after
which a brief business meeting was
held.

careless smokers lead the list in the
causes of fire and damage in the
home.

We added a new clause to our con-
titution and two new chairmen were
appointed. They were: Edna M. Hol-
comib, Room Hostess and Janie Beas-
ley, Chairman of Discipline.
We are all happy over our new
flag pole. It is much (better than the
old one. The boys of the upper grades
erected the pole.
(Most of the bird houses have been
built and some have been painted.
We will soon have them hung for the
.birds when they get back from their
trip in the South.

Abies and "Making of Makeshifts in
India," (Mrs. Shattuck.

Mr. and Mrs. Jonnie Crushner and
Jonnie Mae Beasley visited in Alto

Mr. and Mrs. Willie Holcomib and
children visited in the Key home in
Sardis Sunday.
Miss Willie Treadway was a Tyler
visitor last week.
Charlie and Wilma Thompson of
Texas City visited friends and rela-
tives here last week.

The Atoy Home Demonstration
Club mlet Thursday, February 26 at
the home of Mrs. Carl Maness at
2 o'clock inn the afternoon. There
were six .members present and also
Mrs. Cook, demonstration agent.
Three delegates are to represent
this county at the district meeting.
Pauline W'hithead is nominee for
this club. The delegates will be el-
lected at the March council.
The district meeting will be held in
Rusk, Thursday, April 23.
The recreatian committee, expan-
sion committee and the yearbook
committee reports were adopted by
this club.
Mrs. Cook gave a very interesting
demonstration on line, color and style
in clothing.
Refreshments were served by Mrs.
Earl Maness.
The netx meeting will be at the
home of Mrs. Oliver Maness. All vis-
itors and new members are invited.
