:
OUR BOYS, not just boys from the good old
U.S.A., but boys from Cherokee county, boys
from Rusk, are slugging it out with the enemy
in all parts of the world. The fight is going bet-
ter for our side now thar? it did during the ea -
ly days of the war It is going better, not be-
cause our boys are braver ncv; than they were
two years ago, but because they have tanks,
and planes, and guns, and all it takes ta wage
a successful war.
They have these things because you and mil-
lions like you have bought bonds and more
bends. It's a matter cf teamwork with the
team on the home front just as e&sential as the
cne cm the Ladle h ont.
Unforfcim&tely both men and equipment are
ex pendable. Ic takes more men, and more
equipment to keep things going our way. And
so the boys keep on fighting and we on the
heme front must keep on buying bondr>, and
more bonds. Lance Wade, Dv.jight Monroe,
Hubert Miles, Thomas Lindstrom, Joe Cole-
son, Jack Walker, Godfrey Gunter, James
Beasley, Carl Joplin, Edgar Ford, and all the
others killed, missing in action and wounded,
are being replaced with more men. The planes
and tanks and ships and other equipment lost
are being replaced with more equipment, by
the sale of bonds and more bends.
It's teamwork between those on the battle-
fronts and those on the home fronts that does
it. And when it comes to the Fifth War Loan,
Rusk has its job less than half done, near the
end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter
ends Saturday night of next week.
