The Denison local is believed
one of the oldest, if not the old-
est electrical union organized in
Texas. Its charter members none
of whom now belong were J. R.
Pratt, R. B. Ellis, C. F. Frost, C.
D. Sloan, T. T. Wilson, Z. B. Mc-
Carver, P. L. Brown, ;J A Walker,
T\ L. Collier and C. 0- Knowles.
The local here is a mixed or-

of both linemen and inside work-J
ers, or in the lingo of the profes-
sion, elumsuitys and narrow backs.

eighty workers and is growing rap-
idly-
Carrying out its policy of usin?
all spare funds toward the welfare
of the city and federal govern-
ments, the electrical workers re-
cently purchijlked $700 worth of

The typographical union, providing
many benefits for its members, is
an affilate of the American Feder-
ation of Labor.
The Press has been published
under the familiar emblem of the
union since it Was first launched
as a weekly in (11930 and contin-
ued its connection with the organi-
zation when it was inaugurated as t
a daily in 1934. LeRoy M. Ander-j
son, Press' publisher is today the
only charter member still operat-
ing in Denison. RoBerf 1?. Carver
is a newspaper correspondent and
did a series of articles .for the Dal-
las News on the Denison dam and
reservoir shortly after work was
first begun on the project.
Present officers are Roy H.
Hart, president; F. R.Jjflwhorn,
vice-president; E. F. Clark, secre-
