It CAN happen here again.
The Klan has already return-

Saving Trees
In Dry Times
Can Be Done
I Many trees and shrubs which
were set in West and Central
Texas last fall have been lost
duo to lack of moisture. J. R
Rosborough and C, R. Heaton,
horticulturists for the Texs.f.
A. and M. College Extension
Service, say that these losses
are due largely to improper
watering methods.
The tight soils of West and
Central Texas must be watered
very slowly in order to get
deep (moisture penetration, the
horticulturists say. Every 10 to
14 days is often enough to
wtter if it is done properly.
A soil covering placed around
the trees will hold the moisture
in the soil. Hay, weeds, or any
cured material that will make
a mulch may be used for a
ground covering. Experiments
have shown thtt a mulch will
cool the soil as much as 20 de-
grees.

Yeast bread may he maut
entirely from rye flour. The
German bread, pumpernickel, is
B familiar example. All-rye
bread is darker, more moist and
heavier than wheat bread. A
lighter loaf may be made by us-

flour.

Statement From Dr.
Homer Rainey
This Week To Public
In opening; thi„ run-off cam-
paign my rich opponent piously
said that ,he was not going to
sling mud,
'He then proceeded to sling
mud at Homer iRainey by mis-
lepresenting my views and cast-
ing aspcTsiona upon my devo-
tion to democracy.
In doing thia, he is pursuing
exactly the same tactics he
usfcid in the ifirst primary.
I charge that he himself
helped to set in motion the
campaign of slander nnd mud
slingitjg ,that was unloosed
against Homer Rainey.
Hare are clippings from the
newspapers* showing \ what he
said about me during the
first prima(ry while publicly he;
pretended that he was far re-
moved from it all.
I charge that my* weathy op-
ponent is directly responsible for
the hate campaign againstf
Homer Rainey in the first pri-
mary and for its being carried
on in this run-off.
