It is said that a sister of Gus
the murdered Mexican has been
here and that she will prosecute
his supposed murderer vigorously.
J. II. Kershaw has brought
the News man under renewed
obligations.
J. II. Thornton called in to
see the News last Saturday. We
are glad to know that he is get-
ting his business affairs in good
shape again.
Another wedding is going to
occur soon in Abilene. Now we
know that half a dozen couples
will ask how we found it out. If
each of them will drop us a note
we'll explain and will next week
say that instead of "another" wed-
ding there will be half a dozen
weddings soon.
A stereopticiaii exhibition
will be given at the Opera House
to-night for the benelit of the Abi-
lene Fire Department.
Mrs. Cobb is here on a visit
to her parents Mr. and Mrs. Joy.
Elder Baxter Golightly made
a trip to Albany this week.
Ex-county commissioner Lyon
was in town Monday.
Miss Fannie Briscoe was on
the sick list this week.
Nathan and Jacob Lapowski
were both in the city this week.

living burned down. He lost
