The subject of a national divorce law
has been brought before the annual
session of tho American Bar .Assocta
Hon at Detroit. Thb advice of the
most acute legal minds of the country
will be asked in solving the question of
how to unify the marriage and divorce
laws ofour different states Their
.present loose and contradictor Btate
is admitted by oil to be a menace to
public morals It is to be hoped that
the influence of the bar association
will be cast 00 the side of reform Of
course no one would intimate for a
moment that any member of that dig-
nified body would be actuated by any
motive other than the desire to pro-
mote beneficial legislation. Here is
an excellent chance for the lawyers to
demonstrate that they are -nbove the
petty ncstion of fees and willing to
"advocate a reform that wrM decrease
litigation at the same time that itele-
vates pUblic standards of morality.
To exterminate moths once each
moctii go over the carpets and woolens
armed with gasoline using it freely as
it will not injuie the most delicate fab-
ric. Use a toy watering pot for the
purpose. Care should be taken about
entering rooms thus treated with a
'la-mp or fire ofanykind mntil'thev have
'been well aired as the gaGoline is very
eicplosive. We were dreadfully troubled
with moths and tried everything to get
rid of them that we could read or hear
of 'but to no purpose cntil using the
gacoline. We now use it once in the
spring as a preventive nd accasion-
alrv open trunks or boxes containing
woolens and give them a Hoeral wetting
closing them immediately 'so that the
furaes will reach every crack and cor-
ner. Nothing is so easily used or at
sure a cure for bedbugs also as gasoline.
